Location/Props/Costume

After creating the plan for my magazine, I went on to plan the photos I would need to take. I found different locations in my local area that were appropriate and resembled the sort of places used for photos that would be seen in magazines. I had taken photos outside an abandoned building with hope that graffiti and other vandalism would fit with the genre of magazine that I am producing and that the location would intrigue the readers. In addition to the attraction of readers I asked a friend to dress up in branded clothes that people within my target audience associate themselves with, for example Nike, Adidas etc. However, when I then looked at the photos I had taken, I felt like most professional magazines don’t tend to shoot outside, with backgrounds mainly being plain. I therefore felt as if the majority of the photos I had taken weren’t the best to use. Despite this, I looked through the photos and then uploaded the ones that I thought could be featured within my magazine and then possibly I’ll edit the photos to look more conventional. I didn't particularly use any props besides the rucksack which is barely noticeable, this is just because I looked at professional magazine covers and a lot of them didn't use any props at all, so for this reason I didn't think it made it more conventional and it was unnecessary to use props. I felt as if the ones I picked were the best in terms of angles and quality of images, however, the location disappointed me as the building didn’t seem to have any graffiti on the outside and for that reason I left the building out of the shots I took.
